We hope that you and those around you are doing well, or at least, getting through these difficult times. Maybe you would like to check out the upcoming February campaigns that we have listed - just taking the time to have a chat is a boost!

Although we have
sadly had to close due to self isolation, we have been making arrangements to leave packages outside for collection at agreed times.
You can reach us on
01295 259442.

Here are four national campaigns in February that can offer help and inspiration...
check out their websites and follow them on social media
Which ones appeal to you?

FEBRUARY is LGBT+ History Month

This aims to educate out prejudice and make LGBT+ people more visible.
For LGBT+ people concerned about domestic abuse, there are several ways to seek help:

1st-7th FEBRUARY is Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Awareness Week

This year's aim is to break the silence around abuse.

Sexual abuse is a crime, irrelevant of who commits it or where it happens.
Here are some places to find help:

NHS

Rape Crisis with Live chat helpline or call Helpline:  0808 802 9999 (12-2.30 & 7-9.30)

Victim Support or call
Supportline: 08 08 08 16 89 111

Survivors UK for males

1st-7th FEBRUARY is Children's Mental Health Week

The theme this year is Express Yourself
Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts, or ideas, through creativity. It is about finding a way to show who you are, and how you see the world, that can help you feel good about yourself. This could be through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and film, and doing activities that make you feel good.

Parents and carers can play an important role in children’s mental health.

The aim is to get the nation talking about mental health and the focus this year is on the power of small, because however you have a conversation about mental health – whether it’s a quick text, a virtual coffee or a walk with someone – it has the power to make a big difference. #TimeToTalk

Click here to find out more about the day

4th FEBRUARY is Time To Talk Day

1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem in any year, which is why talking about mental health is so important.
Picture
Let’s start talking. Maybe this year you can chat with friends and family over video chat, FaceTime, Skype, Google Hangouts or similar. See top tips for hosting activities such as online movie night, virtual bake off or bingo.

Last but not least....THANK YOU

Love Chiropractic for vouchers they added to their donation.
Morrisons for their monthly support to our foodbank.
Tudor Hall School - thank you again for the van full of gifts for our Christmas hampers.

BYHP ROUND-UP

Whilst everyone has been affected by COVID-19 this year, individual experiences have been very different. Giving and receiving support was made more difficult with restrictions on face-to-face meetings and centre opening times. Necessary cancellations of events also tested fundraising. However, together we adjusted to remote working and delighted in seeing the community come together to contribute in so many ways.

Most importantly, w
e take our hats off to all those in our projects who strived towards personal goals in the challenging face of the pandemic.

We wish everyone in our BYHP family a healthy and merry Christmas -
and here's to a brighter 2021!
