Unlocking Potential

Big Lottery Logo

BYHP has Big Lottery funding to deliver ‘Unlocking Potential’, which helps young people to move into employment, education, training or volunteering opportunities.

Young people aged 16-25 take part in a six week course. This is made up of three accredited AQA units designed to assist the young people to identify personal goals, and to acquire life and work related skills. The young people receive training on Customer Services Skills and also from the local CAB, regarding help with managing finances. We help young people put together CVs and develop interview techniques. Members of the Rotary Club of Banbury visit to perform mock interviews.

Following completion of the course, the young people are assisted to find employment or return to education or training. Volunteering and work opportunities are sourced through BYHP’s On A Roll, BYHP’s social enterprise, our contacts and local businesses. We work in close partnership with the Job Centre and NEET-EET services.
