Volunteering

volunteer

Volunteers bring invaluable skills and experience to BYHP.  In turn we hope that volunteers will gain experience with us that will enhance their personal development, help to develop their potential and increase self esteem, confidence and, if applicable, future work opportunities.  It is our policy to encourage the users of our services to actively volunteer for us.

Volunteers perform essential, supportive and complimentary tasks to those undertaken by employees.  BYHP values volunteering because everybody, the users of our services, staff and other volunteers all benefit.  Our volunteer's policy will be made available should you wish to apply to volunteer with BYHP.

BYHP, like all voluntary organisations, has a responsibility for ensuring its volunteers are carefully selected for the roles they will undertake, especially where they will be working with young people. Our recruitment process takes a number of stages including completing an application form, interview and check with the Criminal Records Bureau.

All volunteers are asked to participate in the induction process.  Volunteers will also have the opportunity to participate in a relevant training programme(s).

Support and Management

One of the organisation's goals is to ensure volunteers are adequately supported at all times.  To achieve this objective, every volunteer will have a named person as his or her main point of contact.  Volunteers will also be provided with opportunities at regular intervals to discuss their progress and future development.

So if you would think you have what it takes to volunteer for BYHP and would like to find out how you can help then give us a call (01295 249442), or e-mail us.
