BYHP's On a Roll
BYHP’s On a Roll is part of a Big lottery funded project at BYHP, ‘Unlocking Potential’, which seeks to assist young people to move into employment, education or training.
Over the course of the 5 year project, 250 young people will gain work experience in catering and customer service through placements in BYHP’s On a Roll, which will be staffed by a full-time Catering Manager, a part-time Support Worker, and a full-time young person employed under the apprenticeship scheme.
Prior to placements in BYHP’s On a Roll, young people aged 16-25 will take part in accredited courses designed to assist them to identify personal goals, acquire life and work related skills, and develop interview techniques. In addition, the young people will be assisted in preparing CV’s, and before a young person starts work in the shop, further training will be provided in Food Hygiene and customer service skills.
BYHP’s On a Roll will provide an opportunity for young people to gain experience in catering and retail skills. Assistance will be provided to help the young people move on from work experience, into employment, further work experience, volunteering or education.
BYHP’s On a Roll will be open Monday to Friday selling freshly made sandwiches and lunch time snacks, using, where possible, locally sourced produce. BYHP’s Pantry will also offer a delivery service within Banbury.
All profits from the business will be used to finance services at BYHP.
